  • Flowers attract bees

  • Plant for chalk soil

  • Plant for sun

  • Will self seed

A wonderful variety with fantastic double flowers in a deep purplish red shade with white edges to the petals. Each stem bears numerous flowers which rise above blue-green fern-like foliage in spring and early summer. Flowers are a magnet for bees especially bumbles.

Prefers a moist but well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. May self-seed but the flowers of the seedlings may not be the same as the parent plant.

Height: 12 - 24 inches / 30 - 60cm

Spread: 12 - 18 inches / 30 - 45cm

Lynne's notes:

I'm a real fan of aquilegias. They're like a spring jewel box offering the border or container an amazing selection of beautiful colours, shapes and textures. This variety is no exception. The crinoline-like flowers are truly exquisite. The whole plant has such glamour and style.
