Aromatic leaves give rise to upright spikes of violet-blue flowers in late summer to late autumn. Will become a small shrub at maturity. Flowers are a magnet for pollinating insects.

Requires a well-drained soil in full sun. Will tolerate drought when established.

Height: 24 - 48 inches / 60 - 120cm                      

Spread: 24 - 36 inches / 60 - 90cm

AGM: The RHS Award of Garden Merit. Plants awarded an AGM are:

  • excellent for ordinary use in appropriate conditions
  • available
  • of good constitution
  • essentially stable in form and colour
  • reasonably resistant to pests and diseases
