Plant for sun
Rich, deep purplish-blue, lipped, tubular flowers are backed by a ring of black sepals on strong, branched stems. The foliage is bright green and has a wonderful aniseed scent. The flowers are a magnet for pollinating insects. Makes a beautiful specimen plant in a container or the open border.
Prefers a well-drained soil in full sun. Requires a sheltered site in cold, exposed gardens until established but has proved hardy on the nursery which is quite exposed. Protect from frost until established. Remove spent blooms to encourage continual flowering.
Height: 18 - 36 icnhes / 45 - 90cm
Spread: 18 - 30 inches / 45 - 75cm
