Large, rounded, blackish maroon leaves give rise to strong stems bearing clusters of bright, golden orange, daisy flowers in summer. Flowers are a magnet for pollinating insects. An excellent subject for a bog garden or poolside planting.

Prefers a moist soil in partial shade. Protect newly emergent foliage from slugs and snails.

Lynne's notes:

I'm a sucker for a large leaf and this variety has some on the nicest. The flowers are really the 'icing-on-the-cake' as the large mound of burgundy foliage is the real asset to the garden. Just be vigilant with those slugs and snails in spring.
