Rosettes of large, hairy, green leaves give rise to tall, branched stems bearing spikes of large, deep purple-blue and white flowers in summer and early autumn. Flowers are attractive to pollinating insects.

Prefers a well-drained soil in sun or light shade. Hardy to -10 degrees C and more. The foliage dies back in autumn and emerges from the base in spring. Cut back old stems in spring before the new leaves grow.

Height: 24-36 inches / 60-90cm
