This is an old, established variety with lovely, long spurred, carmine-red flowers with a creamy-white centre. New foliage is often flushed with reddish purple. Flowers appear in late spring and early summer and are a magnet for bees especially bumbles.

Prefers a moisture retentive but well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Will self-seed but seedlings may not have the same colour flowers as parent.

Height: 18 - 24 inches / 45 - 60cm                      

Spread: 12 - 18 inches / 30 - 45cm

i love this variety. It never fails to disappoint and every year it brings joy with its bold colour combination and large flowers. Definitely one I'd recommend.
