This is a handsome perennial with fern-like foliage and tall plumes of creamy-white fluffy flowers in summer. A great addition to the border or bog garden. Flowers are a magnet for pollinating insects    

Prefers a moist soil in sun or a drier soil in shade. This is a large plant and needs room to flourish.

Height: 24 - 72 inches / 60 - 180cm

Spread: 24 - 48 inches / 60 - 120cm

AGM: The RHS Award of Garden Merit. Plants awarded an AGM are:

  • excellent for ordinary use in appropriate conditions
  • available
  • of good constitution
  • essentially stable in form and colour
  • reasonably resistant to pests and diseases

Lynne's notes:

I first planted this perennial back in the late 1990's. Given the space to reach its full potential it is magnificent. In flower, it is covered with bees so makes a fantastic addition to a wildlife garden too.

Our web shop is now open for you to browse and make your selection from. We only send plants out Monday (not Bank Holidays) to Wednesday. This is to avoid packages being left in the postage system over the weekend. Shipping plants and keeping them healthy along the process is an intricate matter.
