Rich red, conical flower plumes are produced in mid summer. Foliage emerges a rich, reddish-bronze in spring and matures to bright green.

Prefers a moist soil in partial shade. If the soil does not dry out, plant in more sun.

Height: 18 - 24 inches / 45 - 60cm                      

Spread: 24 - 30 inches / 60 - 75cm

AGM: The RHS Award of Garden Merit. Plants awarded an AGM are:

  • excellent for ordinary use in appropriate conditions
  • available
  • of good constitution
  • essentially stable in form and colour
  • reasonably resistant to pests and diseases
