Goblet-shaped lilac-pink buds open to reveal beautiful mottled/chequerboard patterned flowers in late summer and autumn. One of the first colchicum varieties to flower. Flowers appear many weeks before the leaves, hence the common name of naked ladies. The leaves appear in late winter/early spring.

Prefers a moisture retentive but well-drained soil in full sun. CARE: All parts of this plant are poisonous. TOXIC if ingested. Handling can cause skin irritation.

Supplied as a freshly lifted bulb with some soil. May be flowering or in leaf depending when purchased.
