This is a superb plant. Dense spikes of delicate, rosy-red tubular flowers rise above blue-green, fern-like foliage in spring. Foliage disappears by early summer allowing it to be grown under or around later-flowering plants.

Prefers a well-drained soil in partial shade. Will gently seed about but never becomes a nuisance.

Height: 4 - 8 inches / 10 - 20cm

Spread: 4 - 6 inches / 10 - 15cm

AGM: The RHS Award of Garden Merit. Plants awarded an AGM are:

  • excellent for ordinary use in appropriate conditions
  • available
  • of good constitution
  • essentially stable in form and colour
  • reasonably resistant to pests and diseases

Delivery Options

Our web shop is now open for you to browse and make your selection from. Postage and packing charges depend on the size and quantity of plants you buy. We only send plants out Monday (not Bank Holidays) to Thursday. This is to avoid packages being left in the postage system over the weekend.

  • Click And Collect

Collection is available from the nursery by appointment only or from one of the events we’ll be attending. During May, June and July our show schedule is very busy so appointments are not always possible and also at other times if we are away attending an event.
