An old variety with large, heart-shaped, puckered, greyish blue-green leaves with wide, irregular, yellow-green margins. Pale lilac flowers appear in mid summer.

Prefers a moist soil in full or partial shade. Will tolerate weak morning or late afternoon sun. Direct sunshine in the hottest hours of the day will cause leaf scorch.

Lynne's notes:

I'm a self-confessed hosta-aholic. I can't get enough of them and like ones' children, one shouldn't have favourites. That said, this is one of mine. One reason is because it is the first hosta I ever grew, over 30 years ago and may be the reason I fell in love with the genus. Another reason is that it makes such a magnificent specimen hosta and when well grown, makes such a wonderful addition to the shade border.
