An evergreen perennial with shiny, very dark burgundy-purple leaves which have scalloped edges and give rise to short spikes of bright blue flowers in spring and early summer. Flowers are a magnet for pollinators. 

Prefers a moisture retentive soil in sun or partial shade. Needs some sun to maintain dark purple colour. In shade, the leaves become more of a dark green shade. 

Height: 6 - 10 inches / 15 - 25cm

Spread: 8 - 18 inches / 20 - 45cm
