Leaves emerge pale yellow-green maturing to green with red markings. Flower stems appear in late spring and early summer bearing reddish purple flowers, much loved by pollinating insects.  Petals reflex as the flowers mature.

Prefers a moisture retentive but well-drained soil in shade but will tolerate some sun and drier soils once established.

Height: 24-30 inches / 60-75cm

Spread: 18-24 inches / 45-60cm
