Plant for clay soil
Dark green, evergreen leaves give rise to bold heads of bell-shaped, lime green flowers, which are held for many weeks through late winter and into early spring. Easy to grow and useful for difficult places in the garden, as it tolerates dry shade and survives under the canopy of trees where it will gradually naturalise and self-seed. Flowers provide an important nectar source for early flying bees.
Prefers a well-drained soil in full or partial shade. CARE: Harmful if ingested. Handling may cause skin irritation.
Height: 18 - 30 inches / 45 - 75cm
Spread: 12 - 18 inches / 30 - 45cm
AGM: The RHS Award of Garden Merit. Plants awarded an AGM are:
- excellent for ordinary use in appropriate conditions
- available
- of good constitution
- essentially stable in form and colour
- reasonably resistant to pests and diseases
